"Blessed are the cheesemakers"- Editorial

Does our fabulous state have produce awards? It seems there is an award for nearly everything, even food blogs! I am still waiting for a nomination - Anyone - Anyone?
Restaurant and Catering South Australia have released the winners of their awards in 09. See the list Here.

  1. produce awards - now that is an idea worthy of a nomination itself...let's put the produce and the producers on a pedastool, i love it..."and the nominees for the juiciest pink lady's are..."

here's the thing about the restaurant and catering awards; you have to be a member of the association(not always a democracy) and you then have to pay for your own nomination...like, with money...something around $200 per nomination...and a faceless panel of nobody knows who then mysteriously awards a prize. it is something akin to a farce. i am not suggesting that the winners do not deserve recognition, but, these awards are flawed.

    go scullery.

  4. But Terry (Auge owner)is such a nice guy! Note: The Advertiser got his name wrong in a picture sub title. Did Cheong Liew accept his award for achievement? Yes he did - Good on ya Cheong! Apparently he gave the crowd the "Mark Williams Tie Choker" sign.
